Monthly Blog Love – March

I have lots of new things planned for my blog, for example, the “Take Time Thursday” weekly post. I hope that you enjoyed my first installment last week.

Today begins another new feature on my blog where I will take my top few favorite blog posts of the entire previous month and share the love with all of you! I think it’s important to share some of the *real* health knowledge that I learned over each month, so my Monthly Blog Love posts will be geared toward this type of sharing. I will keep each monthly post short and sweet with only my top 3-5 favorites. Ready? Let’s get started!

Does Your Bone Broth Contain Lead?

I had seen a few people posting on Facebook about bone broth confirmed to have lead in it. My reaction was definitely not good. My family LOVES our homemade bone stock! We drink it and put it in so many things. I thought it was incredibly healthy for us! I started researching to see what I could find. So, what did I find? Does your bone broth contain lead? I’ll let Kaalya T. Daniel (The Naughty Nutritionist) fill you in; well done, Kaayla.

3 Reasons To Use Refined (NOT Unrefined) Coconut Oil

When I saw the title of this article I thought to myself……..huh!?? WHY would anyone prefer refined over UNrefined coconut oil (well, except for the whole taste factor). Elizabeth over at The Nourished Life brings up some intriguing points to ponder re: why she mostly chooses refined coconut oil. What about you…would you choose unrefined? 1. Thank you for posting about the hormones!!! I’ve not had a period for allmost 2 years, and have had problems with regularity for a few years. I’ve been looking into ways to fix it, but with all the other things going on in life right now, I don’t have the time, nor do we have the money to really put into it.
I read your post (and have decided to try some of the things she’s pointed out), but then followed a rabbit trail to come across herbal infusions! I’m going to get some herbs to try those in the hopes that it will balance out my hormones and help my body be healthier.
    Thanks again!!

    1. I am glad that you found some tips from Cheeseslave’s blog post! I know what you mean about following a “rabbit trail” of information. When I first started my *real* food and health transition, that’s all I felt like I was doing…stumbling around in the dark on some crazy rabbit trail.

I am still learning to sort through a lot of the information I find online and in books. I always put on my “researcher hat” and question what I find, evaluate it for reliability and validity, and see if I can corroborate it to determine if it’s something I’d like to try. I guess that’s what we have to do in this crazy, mixed up, mainly unhealthy world, huh!?

What types of herbal infusions do you plan to try? I love talking about herbs and essential oils of all kinds. I’m curious what you found.

Thanks for stopping by and know that I am wishing you the best in your journeys,
      Jess

  3. I have been browsing online more than 3 hours lately, but I never discovered any fascinating article
like yours. It is pretty price enough for me. In my opinion, if all
website owners and bloggers made excellent content material as you did,
the web might be much more useful than ever before.
