Hi friend!

It’s me…the ‘Original Scratch Mommy’ stopping by for one last post here on the original Scratch Mommy blog. Monday (September 14, 2014) you will no longer see a site that looks like this…

Pretty good looking blog, if I don’t mind saying so myself! So why make changes and exactly what IS this e-magazine you’ve heard me mention lately? Well, let’s take a brief walk down memory lane, shall we?

“Have an itch?”

I wrote my first ever blog post – Have an itch? – on January 26, 2013. That wasn’t really that long ago. Sometimes it seems like yesterday, but other times it seems like decades.

In this post I explain,

Finally, at 33 years old, I have found my place. It is not in higher education, but rather, it is in the home and in sharing with all of you the things I have discovered to make our lives more healthy. Scratch Mommy is here!

I had an ‘itch’ to share things with you. My life was changing in dramatic ways (as having a baby will often do to a person). I learned to swap the Cheetos and Mountain Dews for cheesy quinoa crackers and home brewed water kefir and kombucha. I had realized the truth about *real* food to truly nourish my family and me…and I had to share!

Then, that ‘itch’ to create grew. I suddenly had so much information at my fingertips that I had an itch to scratch for creating all things…from scratch!

The main categories on the Scratch Mommy blog have always been…

*Real* Food

I learned about organic foods, GMOs, pasture raised and grass-fed meats, raw milk, and so much more. Recipes were pumping out of my kitchen…

DIYs For The Home (projects)

Readings labels and really understanding what we use everyday has been one of the biggest eye-openers for me. So, off I went to create all of these things right at home…

DIYs For The Body (products)

Now THIS ‘itch to scratch’ has truly grown to levels I never imagined. My online skincare shop is thriving, as is my recently opened brick and mortar retail store. But, of course, I still love to give YOU the option to make these DIYs yourself at home…

Homesteading

My brown thumb suddenly became more green…

Parenting

Of course, parenting has always had a place on Scratch Mommy. Mr. O turned three just this past weekend. Wow. What a ride…

The main categories on the NEW Scratch Mommy E-Magazine will be…

Exactly the same, my friend.

Things here have always been about Life, From Scratch…and they will remain that way.

You see, I had NO idea that when I started this journey I would travel to this interesting place. My son recently started preschool (where he is learning through Montessori means, which is working out so very well for him), I opened my brick and mortar retail skincare shop (I still can’t believe I did this), and online skincare orders Just.Keep.Coming.In. These are all very positive things, but things leaving me with little time at the end of each day to continue bringing fresh, new, relevant content to you.

I cannot continue to maintain Scratch Mommy on my own. There simply is not enough TIME!

So, now YOU have the opportunity to watch Scratch Mommy unfold from where my visions started and see it blossom through the love of other Scratch Mommy bloggers!

We now have an incredible Editorial Staff of three AND a fantabulous Contributing Writer Staff of almost 30 – You have got to meet them! Tomorrow when the site is live you will be able to do just that.

In fact, you do NOT want to miss this week!

We have an entire week of introductions of our UhMaaaZing Scratch Mommy team.

We are having a giveaway Each.And.Every.Day.This.Week.

Be sure to keep up on social media for all the details.

I want to thank you.

I want to thank you for your support in my blogging endeavors, and now in my role as creator and publisher of the new Scratch Mommy E-Magazine. I promise you are going to love it.

I want to thank you for all of the encouragement you’ve always sent my way. You know, I still receive emails, PMs, and social media notes and comments from people who have been with me since the very beginning of my journey? Receiving your notes of encouragement, your questions, your praise, your thanks to me…that’s why I do this and why it will continue in the same way it always has (just in much larger fashion).

I want to thank you for being a Scratch Mommy! Scratch Mommy’s ROCK! Keep on ‘itching those scratches’, friend.
…and keep visiting us where we will help you to keep creating your own…LIFE, FROM SCRATCH!

Until next time…

xoxo,
Jess
