Homemade Lip Balm with Peppermint Oil

Ingredients
Instructions
  1. Grate the beeswax and butter if you are starting with a solid block. If you are using pastilles you get to skip this step.
  2. Measure equal parts of grated beeswax and butter into a mason jar or a small glass measuring cup, tightly packed. Add the coconut oil on top.
  3. Simply make a double boiler system by adding 2” of water to a small pot. Submerge the bottom of your mason jar or glass measuring cup into the water. Warm on medium-low heat to melt the ingredients, stirring occasionally. Be sure that the water does not boil over the rim and into your blend.
  4. Once everything has melted together, remove from heat immediately and add the peppermint oil to mix. The jar or glass cup will still be extremely hot so be sure to handle with caution. Stir quickly to combine all ingredients and be sure they are well blended.
  5. Pour the hot peppermint mixture into your lip balm containers. I always use jars, but tubes work great as well. Whatever your presences are. Because I am always so excited and can't wait for them to cool on their own, I place my little containers in the refrigerator to cool. This will set the wax and allow you to use them quicker.
